So who are the Olympicks and how did the name originate?

Well the olympicks consist of Bp knoxville Flawless Pc Jay Fab, and the name pretty much came from actual inspiration of the real olympics, we thought it best describes us because to make it in the actual olympics you have to rank best in any event you are in, and we felt like we were the best in every area in michigan to form this team… and its crazy, we formed right before the actual 2008 olympics lol.

Whats a typical day in the life of an Olympick?

Well pretty much work, in different ways, whether it be producing, mixing, making and taking calls, sending tracks off.. but we are not gonna sit here and say we are these big shot producers and everything is just work, we like to live as well, hang out, play video games, club here and there have cook outs, just a lot of chill shit.

Is the team officially located somewhere or are you guys still moving back and forth between Miami and Detroit?

Yea still in michigan, in and out of town but we plan on moving soon.

What equipment do you guys currently use?

Well we all mostly use hardware, mpc’s motif and phantom key boards, and our babies.. VST’s lol umm different rack mounts, sometimes fruity loops, reason refills, and starting get into logic.. but we love vst’s.

Considering you have a five person production team, how do you guys go about dealing with differences of opinions?

Well we are all like brothers, so its pretty much like a normal family, we have our arguments but we always manage to work them out because we know its whats best for the team.. but most of the time we are pretty much on the same page..

Every production team goes through some ups and downs – can you explain your teams situation?

Well we’ve had alot of those in our lifetime lol, especially before we linked and everybody was an individual producer.. it can be a big ass rollercoaster ride at times, first you will get great news on a possible placement , then you hear nothing.. but it pushes you to be better and make undeniable shit lol.. but since we’ve been a team, things have been really smooth..

How did you guys go about getting in touch with Rick Ross? What are your thoughts on being the in-house producers for the Maybach Music Group?

We a have a friend who is an A&R for CTE by the name of DJ Folk we work with, and he sent our tracks out to alot of connects and so happen to get it to the A&R at maybach, they heard the tracks and went monkey nutz lol.. then Ross called us saying that he loves our name and sound and the rest is history, but being on maybach has gotten us alot of exposure, our name was already starting to flood through the industry, but this situation shot it up 10 more levels.

What are some memorable moments in the studio?

We’ll one was working Mafia Music 2 for Ross, we went all the way in for that, umm another would be our first time meeting him when came to michigan for a showand we played like over 30 tracks for him and he was just rocking out to them all, Shit Was CRAZY!! lol

Where/what was the first time you guys heard your song in public (on the radio, in a club)?

For the radio we would say it would have to be Mafia Music 2 while being interviewed at the station, that was just a fun night, and in the club would be Big Sean “What you Doin? Bull$#@ttin” record, that shit knocks and its catchy.

30 Minutes To New Orleans? (click to preview)

LOL. We’ll we don’t know – its a big confusion on that record.

You guys have quite an impressive discography, are there any other artists you would like to work with in the future?

Yes of course,, T.I. Lady GaGa, Kanye West, Alicia keys, Madonna, MIA, Flo Rida, Lupe Fiasco, Justin Timberlake, Marsha Ambrosius, Brittney Spears, Jay-Z, Kerri Hilson, Fabolous just to name a few.

What are some of your future projects we should be looking out for?

Rick Ross Teflon Don droppin July 20th, Big Sean droppin in September, Donnis’s project, Birdman next album, Jeezy thug motivation 103, just linked up with Wiz khalifa and Curren$y.

What do the Olympicks still want to achieve?

We want to achieve to be one thee greatest production teams to set foot in the industry, we want to have longjevity with our sound and to put our artist on.
